Providers, agents and functions
1. How the product fits together
| Part | What it is | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Website | Product information, pricing and legal pages | ascodex.com |
| Web app | The full IDE in your browser | ide.ascodex.com |
| Desktop app | Windows installer today; Linux and macOS planned | GitHub releases |
| Agent engine | Built-in agent, tools, workspace and settings (AionCore + aionrs) | Bundled with the app |
| Office engine | Word, Excel and PowerPoint creation and preview (OfficeCLI) | Bundled with the app |
2. Agents
Built-in agent. Works as soon as you install — no command-line tools to set up. Paste any API key and it can read and write files, search the web, generate images and use MCP tools.
External agents. If you already use coding agents, IDE ascodex detects them automatically and runs them side by side in one interface, each in its own session:
- MCP in one place: manage Model Context Protocol tools once; they are passed to each agent that supports them.
- Full-auto mode: agents that support it can run unattended; permissions depend on the agent you pick.
- You approve: file changes and commands wait for your confirmation unless you turn that off.
3. AI model platforms (30+)
Add your own keys in Settings → Models. When you connect a provider, your prompts go to that provider under its own terms and privacy policy.
| Group | Platforms |
|---|---|
| Official | Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, Gemini, Gemini on Vertex AI |
| Cloud and gateways | AWS Bedrock, NewAPI (one gateway for 20+ models), OpenRouter, Poe |
| International | DeepSeek, MiniMax, Moonshot (Kimi), xAI, Novita, SiliconFlow, Ark (Volcengine) |
| China | Dashscope (Qwen) and Dashscope Coding Plan, Zhipu, Qianfan (Baidu), Hunyuan (Tencent), Lingyi, ModelScope, InfiniAI, Ctyun, StepFun, SiliconFlow-CN, PPIO |
| Local | Ollama, LM Studio, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint |
4. Built-in assistants (21)
Ready-made assistants with their own rules and skills. You can edit them or create your own.
| Area | Assistants |
|---|---|
| General work | Cowork (autonomous file and document tasks), Planning with Files |
| Presentations | PPT Creator, Morph PPT, Morph PPT 3D, Pitch Deck Creator |
| Documents | Word Creator, Word Form Creator, Academic Paper Writer |
| Data and finance | Excel Creator, Dashboard Creator, Financial Model Creator |
| Design and code | UI/UX Pro Max, 3D Game, Beautiful Mermaid (diagrams) |
| Other | HUMAN 3.0 Coach, Social Job Publisher, Story Roleplay, moltbook, OpenClaw Setup, in-app help assistant |
5. Skills
- Three sources: built-in skills that ship with the app, your own custom skills, and skills from extensions.
- Per conversation: a skill indicator shows which skills are active; switch them on or off for each chat.
- Built-in skills include: Word, Excel and PowerPoint (OfficeCLI), Morph PPT, pitch decks, dashboards, financial models, academic papers, Word forms, PDF tools, Mermaid diagrams and skill creation.
- Add your own under Settings → Skills and attach them to any assistant.
- Pro adds two creative packs, installable from Settings → Skills → Skill Packs: Moodboards and Brand variations — see below.
Creative functions (Pro)
| Function | What it produces |
|---|---|
| Moodboard | Turns a spoken or written brief into a finished visual board: extracts the brief, decides palette, material, light and type, writes one prompt per cell, generates the images, then composites a single board plus a caption sheet for review |
| Information | Boards that make a subject understood — labelled and structured, built for reuse |
| Ads | Three hooks per board at 4:5 and 9:16, composed natively for each ratio rather than cropped, with a claims ledger so nothing goes out unsupported |
| Landing pages | A section-by-section visual argument from hero to call to action, with the hero composed for the headline that will sit on it |
| Animation | Motion boards — beats and timings rather than frames — plus an animated board that switches itself off for reduced motion |
| Brand variations | Personalised sticker and badge sets in selectable forms: round, cube, holographic and circadian (a palette that moves through the day). Apply your logo and business name, then export SVG plus raster at print and favicon sizes |
| Glassmorphism boards | Boards and marks built on a frosted-glass system, with a legibility fallback for engines that cannot render the blur |
6. Team mode
A leader agent takes your request, splits it into subtasks and hands them to teammate agents that work in parallel in the same folder. Teammates report back through a shared task board.
- Each teammate can use a different agent and model (for example Claude Code, Codex, Gemini or the built-in agent).
- Add or remove teammates while the team is running.
- Each agent asks for its own permissions; the sidebar shows what is waiting for your approval.
7. Scheduled tasks
- Describe the job in plain language; agents can also create schedules themselves during a chat.
- Three ways to schedule: cron expression with time zone, every N minutes or hours, or once at a set time.
- Continue in the same conversation (keeps context) or start a fresh one each run.
- Each task can have its own model, workspace folder and reasoning level. The desktop app stays awake while tasks are active and catches up on missed runs.
8. Preview panel
See what the agent produced without leaving the app. Open several files in tabs; Markdown, code and HTML can be edited live.
| Documents | PDF, Word (.doc, .docx, .odt), Excel (.xls, .xlsx, .ods, .csv), PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx, .odp) |
| Code | 30+ languages, including JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Go, Rust, Java, C/C++ |
| Markup | Markdown, HTML |
| Images | PNG, JPG, GIF, SVG, WebP, BMP, ICO, TIFF, AVIF |
| Changes | Diff and patch files |
9. Files, Office documents and images
- File management: organise folders, batch-rename, merge and sort files by content.
- Excel: analyse data, clean and format sheets, build charts and reports.
- Documents: editable Word, Excel and PowerPoint output, including Morph slide transitions.
- Images: generate, edit and describe images (needs an image-capable model, for example Gemini).
- Browser: agents can browse the web, fill forms and test web pages.
10. Web and chat access
- Web app: use IDE ascodex from any browser at ide.ascodex.com, or self-host it on your own server.
- Chat apps: talk to your agent from Telegram, Lark (Feishu), DingTalk or WeChat. WeCom, Slack and Discord are in progress upstream.
- Set up chat channels in Settings → WebUI → Channel with your bot token.
