Terms of Service

Effective date: 23 September 2026 · Governed by the laws of Ireland

By using IDE ascodex (the web app at ide.ascodex.com, the desktop app, or the API) you agree to these Terms. If you use it for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these Terms for it.

1. Who we are

2. The service

IDE ascodex is an AI-assisted development environment available as a web app and a desktop app. Features include multi-agent chat, code tools, Office document tools (OfficeCLI), security scanning (Amber Shield) and paid plans.

We may change or retire features. If a change materially reduces what you pay for, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel and receive a pro-rata refund for the unused period.

3. Accounts and security

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. Your content and AI output

6. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation

Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

If you are a consumer in the EU, you may withdraw from a paid subscription within 14 days of buying it without giving a reason. Email [email protected] with a clear statement that you are withdrawing. We will refund you within 14 days using the payment method you used.

Because the service starts immediately at your request, if you withdraw after it has started we may deduct an amount proportionate to the service provided up to the time you told us you were withdrawing.

Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by anything in these Terms.

7. API tokens

API tokens are secrets; treat them like passwords. We store only a hash. If a token may be compromised, revoke it in the app or contact support. Resetting your password signs out all existing sessions.

8. Open source and third-party services

IDE ascodex builds on open-source software, including AionUi, AionCore and OfficeCLI, each under its own licence. AI model providers you connect process your prompts under their own terms. See Providers.

9. Warranties

If you are a business customer, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, to the extent the law allows, and we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that the service will be as described and supplied with reasonable care and skill; these Terms do not limit those rights.

10. Liability

For business customers, our total liability under these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or loss of profits or data.

For consumers, we are responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

11. Ending your account

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may end or suspend access for a serious breach of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as liability and governing law) survive termination.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring a claim in your local courts. Otherwise, the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction.

13. Changes to these Terms

We will post updated Terms here and email account holders about significant changes at least 30 days before they apply. If you do not agree, you can cancel before they take effect.
